I got my b'day present 2 days early from my parents. They bought me a counter top! We were remodeling and were supposed to get free counter tops through my FIL's company and it fell through...which of course he could care less about...but with no money left for the countertops we have not had them on our new section of cabinets for almost a year (still had the counter on the other side of the kitchen)
But now I need to finish the remodel and PAINT! I don't know what to do...stick with the red??? add a funky scalloped border??? what about deep chocolate brown? I really don't know. Any opinions? any inspirational pictures you love? FYI I've got a collection of green pottery like the cookie jar on the counter, the adjoining family room is dark dark brown leather, black, and red, and I've got a collection of chalk boards I'm going to hang in the dining area...

You totally need to do a chocolate brown, that would be so pretty with all your green pottery, or what about a robin egg blue? (then your kitchen could be like mine!)
I think a lighter yellowish olive green would make your pottery stand out, but at the same time look like they were meant to go with the other. If you found the right color, it should compliment your cabinets and the colors in the other room, not to mention make your chalkboards tie in even better. I found a picture of something similar to what I mean, but I don't think I can post it here. The color I have in mind would also look good with the browns, black, and red, but pics look different than being there in person. Good luck, though, and congrats on your new countertop! I'll try to find a way to send you that photo! :)
HHHAAAPPPYYY BIRTHDAY!!!! I can't believe you really have your countertops...that is awesome! I'm partial to the red.
If you have a birthday shout hooray! We want to sing to you today, one more year older and wiser too, happy birthday to you!

Ugh! I wish I could help you out, but my head is already swimming with paint colors, floor choices etc, etc.
What program did you use to make your kitchen with different colors!! That's really cool!
